2 IMs, Some Mountains and the flat stuff

This week's update is a double decker sandwich of long course loveliness!

Topping and tailing the round-up, two BTS members cracked their first Ironman events, one with dramatic consequences. 2 others rode like Contador (at least a distant cousin of Contador) over proper mountains, and several others shared the roads with Brownlee, or completed not so exhausting or frankly hilly events in locations as far a field as Droitwich. (Well it is a good 125 miles from Windsor!!)

More details from Corinne Abraham here, on her first ever Ironman, that ended up with her on the women's podium 3rd overall, and earning her slot in Hawaii as the winner of the women's 30-34 age-group.

Congratulations to Jonathan Elliot, who adds his name to the list of BTS'ers who have completed Tri's ultimate distance, perhaps we need to start a hall of fame!

Well done too, to Chris Taylor and John Booker, who took on and conquered the might of Alpe D'Huez (plus 2 other mountains that would make most triathlons impossible)

Not in this list (cuz there were no splits and it messed up my nice table!), Sam Gardner took second place in the British Cross Triathlon Championships (click for more), all part of a busy period for our Xterra star member in the run up to his equivalent of Kona later this year.

Finally, special mention to Paul Mason, who just missed out on beating your humble website monkey by 5 seconds in the Droitwich sprint. Fortunately the swim gave me enough of a lead. thanks to what was a season's best pool 400m - by about 5 seconds!

Cheers
Paul
